Istanbul, Turkeyــ A delegation from the Foreign Relations’ office in the Kurdish National Council (KNC) arrived in Istanbul to hold talks with the Syrian National Coalition.
“The visit comes within the framework of holding meetings with the Syrian Coalition of Opposition and Revolution Forces to discuss the escalating events taking place in the Kurdish region,” said Behzad Ibrahim, a member in the Kurdish delegation to Istanbul.
Ibrahim denied that the delegation’s visit has any relation to the recent visit of the joint head of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD), Saleh Muslim, to Turkey.
“Muslim’s visit came at a request from the Turkish government, while the KNC delegation was on a private visit to deal with the recent bloody incidents taking place in Syria’s Kurdish region, and to find appropriate solutions to end the conflict,” Ibrahim told ARA News.
The KNC was represented by a number of KNC members, including Abdul Hamid Darwish, Saleh Gedo and Hosheng Darwish.
This comes as the Kurdish region sees a bloody conflict between the Kurdish forces of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) and Jabhat al-Akrad brigade on the one hand, and the Islamic battalions of Jabhat al-Nusra backed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Sham (ISIS) on the other hand.
The clashes left so far dozens of victims among all disputing parties.
