The area is since months under the control of the Kurdish forces of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) −armed wing of the Democratic Union Party (PYD).
Wednesday’s explosion came a day after an anonymous armed group attacked a real estate office belonging to a resident in the area; killing the owner of the office and injuring two other people who were present at that moment.
