Aleppo, Syria− At least nine civilians were reported dead and dozens injured in Aleppo province on Sunday, as the Syrian air force dropped explosive barrels on residential buildings in al-Jabin and Dwayer al-Zaytoon areas.
Ismail Aziz, human rights activist based in the city of Aleppo, told ARA News that the pro-regime helicopters bombed al-Jabin village with explosive barrels, killing five civilians including two children, while 15 others were injured. “The shelling led to a complete collapse of several residential buildings in the area,” he said.
“Aleppo countryside witnessed intensive air strikes by the regime air force, as the towns of Darat Azza and Orim al-Kubra targeted by rockets,” Aziz said. “While the regime helicopters dropped three explosive barrels on neighbourhood of Masakin Hanano in the city of Aleppo, amid alert in the ranks of the civil defence teams to extinguish the fire broke out after the shelling and pull out corpses of the victims.”
Meanwhile, activists based in the village of Dwayer al-Zaytoon announced on Sunday that the village was bombed by explosive barrels, which claimed lives of four civilians and resulted in the injury of ten others. The injured were reportedly taken to the town of Haritan for treatment.
