Tel Abyad, Syria− At least seven members of al-Qaeda splinter group of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were reportedly killed during clashes with the al-Akrad Front Brigade and al-Raqqa Rebels Brigade (fighting under the banner of the Free Syrian Army FSA).
Areas controlled by ISIL in Ein al-Issa town in Raqqa province were regained by Syria rebels.
Meanwhile, local sources told ARA News that intensive clashes broke out on Monday between ISIL militants and the Popular Protection Units (YPG) −military arm of the Democratic Union Party (PYD)− in al-Mahmudiyah village, near Syria’s Raqqa.
These developments came as three ISIL corpses and six wounded arrived on Monday evening in Tel Abyad/Girespi hospital from Ras al-Ain/Sere Kaniye in Hasakah province, northeast of Syria, where similar clashes took place between the ISIL and the YPG.
In the meantime, clashes still continuou between al-Raqqa Rebels Brigade and ISIL militants in the outskirts of Kafeef and al-Mab’ujeh villages, north of Ein al-Issa town. Local sources reported that the ISIL group hit the area with more than 25 mortar shells on Monday.
