Raqqa, Syria – For the third consecutive day, the pro-regime military forces bombed on Sunday the city of Raqqa with ground-to-ground missiles, while the Syrian air force launched several air raids on the city.

Local sources in the city of Raqqa stated to ARA News that the pro-regime military forces targeted al-Baladi swimming pool area with ground-to-ground missile without recording casualties. “The attack left material large damage behind.”

“The pro-regime warplanes targeted the city with several raids, the first targeted “April 7 Garden”, while the few others hit the vicinity of the National Hospital of Raqqa, killing five civilians and wounding several others, including doctors and nurses,” activists reported.

Bombardment of Raqqa started after al-Qaeda offshoot group of the Islamic State (previously known as ‘ISIL’) controlled on Friday the headquarters of the Syrian army’s Division 17 in Raqqa countryside, following fierce clashes with the pro-regime military forces.
