Damascus, Syria – Militants of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) beheaded one of their military officers in the city of al-Mayadin in Deir ez-Zor province, in western Syria.

The Syrian leading member of the IS was beheaded and then crucified at al-Jirdaq square in central Mayadin on Friday.

“He was executed on charges of robbery,” activists from Deir ez-Zor told ARA News.

Media activists in Deir ez-Zor reported Friday that the Islamic State’s militants have broadcasted over loudspeakers that the executed member of the radical group will be buried in the Muslims graveyard after three days of crucifixion, and people may pray for him “as he is not an apostate”.

“But he has trespassed God’s limits, that’s why he was punished,” a statement by the IS Sharia Court in the city of al-Mayadin read.

Local media activists reported earlier this week that the radicals of IS executed two prominent leaders in al-Nusra Front (al-Qaeda branch in Syria) on charges of “fighting against the Islamic State”.
