Geneva, Switzerland – On Friday, the British government announced its intention to seize passports from its radicalized citizens and prevent them from re-entering the UK after returning from conflict areas in Syria and Iraq.

British Prime Minister David Cameron told reporters in Canberra that strict measures will be taken against radicalized Britons.

The UK will also ban the landing of airlines which doesn’t comply with its no-fly lists, according to Cameron.

“We will shortly be introducing our own new Counter-Terrorism Bill in the UK,” the British PM said.

Cameron announced “new powers for police at ports to seize passports, to stop suspects from travelling, and to stop British nationals from returning to the UK unless they do so on our terms.”

“There will be new rules to prevent airlines that don’t comply with our no-fly lists or security screening measures from landing in the UK,” he stressed.

According to reports, UK border guards and airport police will also be given new powers to seize passports from those they suspect of planning to travel abroad to commit terrorist acts.

An estimated 500 British jihadists have so far join the ranks of the radical group of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) in Syria and Iraq.
