Damascus, Syria – On Sunday, an Israeli drone was shot down in the Quneitra region of southern Syria.

The Israeli drone was flying above the village of Hedar before being shot down.

According to the state agency SANA, there are no reports about who carried the operation or whether the drone crashed.

Quneitra province, near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, has seen repeated clashes between Syrian regime forces and opposition fighters –backed by al-Nusra Front.

Reuters reported that Israel has struck Syria several times since the start of the latter’s nearly four-year civil war, mostly destroying weaponry such as missiles that Israeli officials said Reuters reported were destined for their long-time foe Hezbollah in neighboring Lebanon.
