Istanbul, Turkey – The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced Monday that Hayat Boumediene, wife of the major perpetrator of the attack against the kosher supermarket in Paris (Amedy Coulibaly), had entered Turkey and then crossed into Syria days ago.

Minister Cavusoglu said that Boumediene entered Turkey on January 2, coming from Madrid, and then crossed the border into Syria on January 8.

“The Turkish security authorities spotted pictures of Boumediene in the Ataturk International Airport and then at the hotel, which is in the Qadi Koy area the Asian part of Istanbul,” Cavusoglu said.

“The signals emitted from her mobile phone show that she entered Syria on the 8th of this month.”

Cavusoglu stressed that the Turkish authorities provided information on Boumediene to the French government “before Paris requested it”.

Hayat Boumeddiene, 26, along with Amedy Coulibaly, is suspected of killing a policewoman outside of Paris.

Coulibaly carried out hostage-taking, including Muslim hostages, in a Jewish supermarket in the French capital Paris on Thursday, a day after an armed attack by gunmen with automatic weapons targeted the satirical French newspaper Charlie Hebdo, causing the death of 17 people including two policemen.
