Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan – On Monday, warplanes of the U.S.-led international coalition conducted 17 new raids against strongholds of the Islamic State’s (IS/ISIL) militants in Syria and Iraq.
The U.S. Central Command said in a statement the coalition’s forces used fighter jets and bomber aircraft in the new raids.
In Syria, five raids were carried out, during which the U.S.-led airstrikes hit IS targets near Kobane and Hasakah, destroying at least four fighting positions of the radical group.
In Iraq, the coalition conducted 12 airstrikes, which were focused on Fallujah and Mosul, the U.S. Central Command reported.
