ERBIL – Extremists of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Saturday executed four young men in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province after accusing them of spying for hostile parties.
“The radical group arrested four men earlier on Wednesday. After three days of interrogations, the Sharia Court issued a statement calling for their execution on charges of treason and spying for the western coalition and US-backed Syrian factions,” media activist Ahmed Ramadan told ARA News in Deir ez-Zor.
The four young men, aged 23-29, were hanged to death in a public square in Deir ez-Zor city on Saturday.
“Dozens of people have forcibly witnessed the execution, including the victims’ families,” Ramadan reported.
